What is a best-looking and well-built mobile phone to you? What would you do if you get it broken? I bet most of you would come to the nearest repairing mobile phone service and fix it. However, as it is quite rare to hear, a few of you would toss it in the bin. For those who love throwing away the mobile phone because of its bad performance, you can be, I can say, an honourable sportsman. The sport itself is called mobile phone throwing, while you will find it under the tittle cell phone throwing in the United States of America. It is a sport in which participants throw the mobile phones and are judged on distance or technique.
Mobile phone throwing is originally started in Savonlinna, Finland, in the year 2000, and then it has been gone around across the country since then. There are officially two categories in the Mobile Phone Throwing. Traditional style is over-the-shoulder-throw, where the length of the throw is crucial. In Freestyle, the style is free and the contestant gets points for aesthetics and creative choreographics from 4 to 10. In both categories the contestant with the highest score wins.The prize for the first place in a national event is entry to the world championship, and the grand prize for winning the world championship is a new mobile phone.
What are the common rules
First, the mobile phone used can vary widely. Certain contest demands all participants utilize one phone model, while other competitions let you use any cell phone that weights from 220 grams to over 440 grams. Second, the contestant must stay inside the throwing area during the throw. Once the contestant steps over the area, s/he will be disqualified. Third, the phone must land within the marked throwing section. Fourth, cell phone can not be altered and battery must be attached.
What are the benefit joining this competition
Eventhough it’s unusual and less popular sport, mobile phone throwing has many advantages. First, like any other popular sports, such as football or basketball, mobile phone throwing offers fun activity, which is quite useful to reduce stress, and healthy body. Second, this weird sport circumstancially participate in clean environment care. As you know, the discarded and dumped mobile phone contains a battery, which is toxic waste, that must be handled carefully. Local recycling center become a partner and they collect all the toxic waste. Finally, not only does this sport provide fun activity and support clean environment, but it is also strengthen social awareness. In the United states of America, the contestants will be asked for donations that cost only 5 dollars per each entry. The charitable contribution will be handed to the local hospital.
To conclude, having seen that benefits, I should argue that this growing-fast sport is worth to apply in development countries, one of which is Indonesia. It should be; however, conducted and supported by middle class to top class people with million rupiahs in their saving. the rich people get fun and health from it, and the needy get soething from it. Dawn Chorus
DAWN CHORUS
It’s rather cold outside there;however, a ceaseless sound “Krik-Krik-Krik” keeps ringing on my head - full spirit crikets’ song. I still put my blanket on me and my eyes are a bit idle to open its eyelid. Kinds of book like grammar, how to teach writing, not forgetting phrasal verbs, scattered around on my bed. After a while, I heard a faint call to prayer. It was so right that I had to get up from my bed for an ablution, but it was like the idleness dragging me back into my old greyish bed.
Indeed, it was necessary to collect an overwhelming amounts of sprit to beat such idleness down; therefore, I pumped up my blood simultaneously. I got up and went down the stairs for an ablution, starting to prayer. It was 5 a.m, it would soon be brighter outside there. I thought it was better for me to go for a walk in the morning, which must be fun. I put all equipment on me – sporty-look jacket, cheap and cheerful shoes, newest men watch, and a thirst quencher. Those stuffs were the least things I could bring. I tried to have a look at my watch. It showed 5.45 a.m, but the sun was not awake. Opening my door, I took a deep breath for a while to adjust my body with the air all around. I went off to the place where I could posssibly do excercising. Once or twice I met someone in the middle of my walk
“Where are you going?”, he said. I had predicted that such question will come out from his mouth as I know it was a common question that indonesian people ask. “Well, take a walk sir”, I said. “I had better take a regular exercise as I am still young”, I added. “well, have a nice day”, he said. “Have nice day too, sir”, I replied. After wandering around, I decided to take a rest under a big tree. A thirst quencher was a good sign to consume at that time. It was so calm and relaxing resting under the big tree that I, in a few minutes later, felt asleep. There were crowd of birds with a variety of songs up there . One of the songs I heard was, more or less, like this, “Cweeet-Cweet”. Soon, I realised that lots of white-eyed birds, or “Burung Kacamata” up there. It is small and light-footed bird. You can find such bird all around in indonesia since they are known as endemic birds at all Asean tropic forest. They not only prey insects but nectar and fruit as well.
Another song I heard was little bit peculiar and complex. At the beginning, its sound was monotonous, “tweeet-tweeet-tweeett”. Soon, it was followed by complex chirping sounds. I focused my eye on one of branches, where I saw a flash of black shadow jumping all around. Then, I said, “oh!! I see”. “It is magpie robin”, I uttered. As long as I know, there are two types of them, black chest magpie and white chest magpie. For most Indonesian people, the white chest is much better since they are belived as a great singer with louder voice compared to the black chest. Therefore, they, white chest magpie, are well known as cagebird in our society. Magpie robin is an insect eater bird, and their most favorite food, I believe, is ant’s egg or “kroto” in javanese term.
There are, still, plenty of birds I want to tell, but I’ve got limited time and energy to expose all of them in this immature, incomplete, or even dull article. What I really want to tell you is first you may need sometimes to go for a walk in the morning and listen to the birds song. Pub Steakout
The policeman had the bar under surveillance a few minutes before closing time, so he could see who comes out drunk.
The first one out the door at 2:00 o'clock weaved down the sidewalk, then fell on the curb. Sluggishly got up, then tried his keys in five cars before finding his own car.
Once inside his car, he fumbled with his keys for 2 or 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, all the club patrons had gotten into their cars and driven away, leaving this one fellow quite alone in the parking lot.
Finally, he got his car started and began to very slowly drive away.
Immediately, the police car was behind him with lights flashing.
The policeman asked the man to take a breathalyser test, to which he readily agreed.
When the reading was 0.0%, the policeman said, "How can this be?"
To which the man replied, "Because tonight, I'm the designated decoy."

Elementary class teaching (ALB)
I finished teaching in Elementary class today. The students I taught were teenager. at this moment, I would like to review of the way I run my teaching particularly in term of weakness and strength. This is important for since I am newbie in teaching carrier. I hope that whoever read this article can share the idea.
before I inform you about the weaknesses and strengths of my teaching, i should explain to you little bit about my lesson plan. each lesson I should cover MFPA(Meaning, Form, Pronunciation, Appropriateness), controlled practice, and freer activity. The topic is adjective of feeling with -ed and -ing
I played ping pong game as a warmer. I felt okay for warmer activity since my students could participate well in it. at that time, I asked student to stand up and form circle line. the procedure was every student who hold the ball/ highlighter should mention a adjective word. if certain students took a long time say it, I gave a mark with board marker on his/her hand.
after playing the game, I continued to presentation related to the differences of adjective of feeling ended with -ed and -ing. I began with writing two sentences on the white board. " Jane is.....because her job is...." and "the lesson is....so the students...... in it. I asked the students "what is the appropriate answer from this question?". i think my students were difficult to answer it.
from this. i had difficulty to elicit my student by giving "concept questions". this is first think of my weaknesses. I think formulating "concept question" leading to target language is a problem for new teacher. Here are concept questions that I'd been thinking before " does adjective of feeling with -ed describe the feeling of somebody (yourself is included?" [yes, it does], "does adjective of feeling with -ing describe the thing?" [yes it does]
second point of my weaknesses when i taught elementary level (ALB) was giving suitable freer practice. the purpose of freer practice is students can practice about presented materials given by teacher.

THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TEACHING ENGLISH TO ADULTS AND TEACHING ENGLISH TO CHILDREN
People can not enhance their skill in order to survive in this world without doing communication. Communication plays central role in transferring knowledge from one person to another. Today, one of well-known tools of communication is English language. Since English become popular language among our society, people try to study English either as second language or as foreign language. In this composition, the writer would like to explore the notion regarding the main differences between teaching English to adult and teaching English to children.
In order to encourage the motivation of adult learner and young learner (children), teacher must know their characteristics in learning process. Why the motivation lies in central role in teaching program? Slavin (1987) states that students who are unmotivated do not learn. They just come to school listening what teacher explains but they do not learn anything. Also, by knowing their characteristics, teacher can determine what learning style that suit best to both of them.
Transferring knowledge like English language to children is not easy thing to handle. They only know that the activities must be fun, interesting, and in humorous condition. Brumfit (1997) states that it is a common place that young children learn better through playing on at least can be induced to go along with teaching that is tempered by fun activities. Otherwise, they will not listen. Children acquire language through subconscious process. Consequently, the demand of creative teacher is needed when such teacher works students at elementary level. The example of fun activities that teacher can do when working with children are role play, story telling, puppets and props, games and puzzle to solve, and singing a song.
Meanwhile, adult leaner tends to be self-directed or independent person. Spread the handouts of the material that you have provided in order to ease adult in understanding the material on their own after the end of the class. When the adult is learning on his own he can use the speed or rate of learning that best fits his own learning style. Another idea when teaching English to adult is relationship building. Introduce yourself to the group and have them introduce themselves. Explain to them regarding the objective of the lesson. By doing so, it is expected that they will put a trust on you. Moreover, Adult learns through conscious process. It shows that they have motivation in attending the class. You must appeal to the learner at an adult level. Try and find out what the adult places value on. Recognize and respect those things that the adult values.

hello there, today i want to share reagarding grammar knowledge. there are reasons why i should rise up focused-grammar today. first. hmmm,, i actually already graduated from varsity in malang, east java, indonesia. i took english subject as my study. the outcome of the subject i took is to be teacher. in order to remember what i had been studied for 4 years, i try to use this blog as my tool or media to recall the knowledge. second, as the TOEFL test is strongly important for me in order to look for postgraduate study, so, i need to understand English language very well. especially in preposition combination with adjective and verb. there was someone who can reach high score of TOEFL test. his score was 620.. wooooaaaaa!!!!! how he can reach it?? he must have certain method in conquering such test. one of his learning technique was remembering all sentence pattern carefully. it is come up in my mind once that remembering "preposition combination with adjective and verb" is one of many ways that successor did. evantually, you can take a look of preposition below to enhance your knowledge.
